MG TD & TF Road Wheels

Road Wheels

When the TD was first introduced, the only option offered was a deeply dished size 4Jx15 disc wheel with a chrome hub. The wheel was mounted by 5 studs which were integral to the brake disc. In 1950 wheels with 15 ventilation holes were also introduced. Dunlop size 5.50-15 with inner tubes were fitted and a spare wheel mounted to the rear as standard. From the introduction of the TF, wire wheels of the same size became optional and proved extremely popular. They came with a two eared knock on and were painted silver. Once the wire wheels became available, MG offered a service kit to convert disc wheels to the wire wheels seen on the TF.
