The most popular sizes for the Midget are 5x13 and 5.5x14 inches. The wider rim compared to the standard 4-inch steel wheel allows a wider tyre to be fitted, increasing the contact patch for improved grip.
When selecting tyre size, the overall rolling diameter should be checked against the standard specification to maintain correct speedometer calibration and ride height. On lowered cars, wheel arch clearance should be confirmed with the wider wheel and tyre combination at full suspension compression.
