Designed to work in conjunction with the original points the Sparkrite SX4000 offers the benefits of electronic ignition whilst overcoming the pitfalls of a conventional points triggered ignition system. Suitable for negative earth 4, 6 and 8 cylinder classic MGs the SX4000 diverts high current away from the points and earths the coil through a relay,
reducing the load to only milliamps which vastly reduces wear on the points whilst still providing an ignition trigger signal to the Sparkrite which in turn controls dwell and saturation time to deliver the perfect spark. For added piece of mind owners can switch back to mechanical points timing at the flick of a switch.
