Clips, Fixings & General Hardware

The Clips, Fixings and General Hardware catalogue gathers the small fasteners, clips and bracketry items that no major component category really owns, but every restoration, service and rebuild needs in quantity. Where the model-specific bodywork, brake, fuel and electrical sections cover the parts that fasten onto the car, this catalogue covers the fasteners themselves and the supporting hardware. The aim is to be a single home for owners ordering a kit of fasteners for a fresh job, or replacing a missing or corroded fixing from years of use. P Clips P Clips are the rubber-lined steel clamps that secure fuel lines, brake lines, electrical looms and clutch hydraulic lines to the body, chassis and engine of a classic MG. The factory specification ran several P-clip sizes across each car, different diameters for fuel pipe, brake pipe, the heavier looms and the lighter cable runs, and the original clips on a long-running car are typically rusted, missing or stretched out of shape. A full P-clip refresh as part of a fuel-line, brake-line or wiring-loom rebuild is one of the lowest-cost improvements an owner can make to the overall presentation and reliability of the underside of the car. The range covers the metric and imperial sizes used across BMC, BL and Rover production. Hose Clips Hose Clips are stocked in the conventional Jubilee-pattern worm-drive specification and in the period-correct slotted-band and wire-loop patterns used on cars where originality is the priority. The Jubilee-pattern clips are the modern standard, adjustable through a worm-drive screw, with a stainless band that resists corrosion. The period clips are sized to match the original factory specification on cars built for concours-correct restoration. Across both patterns, the sizes run from the small clips suited to vacuum lines and small-bore hoses through to the larger sizes for cooling-system top and bottom hoses. Exhaust & U-Clamps Exhaust and U-Clamps cover the joint clamps that hold sectional exhaust systems together, front pipe to centre section, centre section to silencer, silencer to tailpipe. The clamps are stocked in mild-steel and stainless patterns, in the diameters used across the standard and Double S exhaust systems for the classic MG range. U-bolts cover the rear-spring U-bolts on the live-axle cars (MGB, MGB GT V8, MGC, Midget, MGA), these secure the rear axle to the leaf spring and are stressed components that should be renewed during any axle-out or spring-out work. The range covers the standard and uprated specifications, with the appropriate locknuts. Hardware, Clips & Electrical Fixings Hardware (Screws, Bolts etc.) covers the broader range of fasteners that turn up across a classic MG, UNF and UNC threads for the BMC, BL and early Rover production, with the matching washers, spring washers and locknuts. Where a job calls for a length, thread and pitch that the local fastener shop will not have, the Hardware section is the right starting point. Clips covers the broader general-purpose clips, trim clips, panel fasteners, the small spring-steel clips that secure door cards, headlinings and interior panels, alongside the model-specific items covered in the relevant interior and bodywork sections. Electrical Fixings cover the cable ties, terminal blocks, grommets, P-clips sized for cable runs and the assembly hardware needed for any wiring-loom or harness refresh.
