Reproduction sets are made in the original Vynide leathercloth specification and supplied in body-style-specific kits to suit the differing layout of the roadster and coupé.
MGA Roadster Panel Sets
The roadster set covers the rear quarter casings and the panels behind the seats, made in Vynide leathercloth matching the seat colour as fitted to original cars. Reproduction roadster sets are offered in black, red, grey and biscuit, allowing either the original interior colour to be retained or a sympathetic period-correct alternative to be specified during a re-trim.
MGA Coupé Panel Sets
The coupé set is a more comprehensive kit, reflecting the closed body's larger interior surface area, taking in the cabin side panels, separate rear quarter casings (with their detachable cappings) and additional rear-area trim. Coupé door casings differ from the roadster pattern, having no door pockets. Coupé sets are available in black, black with red piping and red, with the rear quarter cappings supplied separately where required (originally colour-coded to the trim, but uniformly off-white from 1600 onwards).
Trim Screw Set
A matching trim screw set is supplied for fixing the panels in place. Period-pattern screws in the correct head style and finish keep the visible detail consistent with the original specification, important on a re-trim where mismatched modern fixings would otherwise stand out against the new panels.
Ordering Considerations
Three points should be confirmed before ordering. First, body style, roadster or coupé. Second, the colour and (on coupé sets) the piping combination, matched to the seats fitted to the car. Third, whether the coupé rear quarter cappings are also being renewed at the same time, since the body-coloured-to-trim or off-white finish should be specified consistently with the rest of the interior.
