Braided brake hoses replace the original rubber flexible brake hoses with stainless steel braided PTFE construction. The PTFE inner tube does not absorb brake fluid or swell under brake pressure as rubber does, giving more consistent pedal feel through the operating life of the hose. The stainless steel braid covering provides external protection and prevents the hose from expanding under pressure.
Pedal Feel and Performance
The benefit of braided hoses is improved pedal feel, the brakes respond to pedal application with less of the slight delay caused by hose expansion in rubber installations. Under hard or repeated braking, where rubber hoses can swell and contribute to fade, the braided hose maintains its pressure response. The improvement is most noticeable on cars used hard or under track-day conditions; on a gently driven road car the difference is more subtle.
Service Life
Braided hoses offer significantly longer service life than rubber hoses, which deteriorate internally over time and are recommended for renewal every several years regardless of external condition. Braided hoses can offer many years of service before renewal becomes necessary.
Installation
Braided hoses install using the original mounting brackets and connection fittings. The hose lengths and end fittings match the V8's specification, front caliper hoses, rear T-piece feeds and other applications. Standard brake bleeding follows installation.
