The single-circuit copper brake and clutch pipe kit for UK and right-hand drive MGCs provides every rigid pipe, flexible hose, adaptor, switch, and clip needed for the complete brake and clutch hydraulic system. The kit covers the master cylinder to servo pipe, servo to four-way adaptor, the four-way and three-way adaptors with brake light switch, the distribution pipes to all four wheel brakes, and the clutch master cylinder to slave cylinder pipe. Each pipe is pre-formed to the correct profile for the RHD MGC and labelled for easy identification during installation.
Single-Circuit Layout
The single-circuit system routes hydraulic pressure from a single master cylinder through a single servo to a four-way adaptor, from which individual pipes run to each of the four wheel brakes, a design that was standard for UK and most export markets during the MGC's production period. The practical consequence of this layout is that a single hydraulic failure, a burst hose, corroded pipe, or failed wheel cylinder, causes total loss of all four brakes simultaneously. This is the fundamental reason why brake pipe and hose condition is critical on single-circuit cars, and why a complete pipe renewal using copper pipes is such a worthwhile investment for any MGC being restored or maintained for regular road use. This kit is for single-circuit cars only, dual-circuit USA and LHD Canadian cars require the separate dual-circuit kit, which has an entirely different pipe layout.
