British Classic Car Parts Engine

Engine

Engine components for classic British cars, covering the BMC A-Series, B-Series and C-Series families alongside Triumph four- and six-cylinder units, Rover overhead-valve and overhead-cam engines, and Jaguar XK power units. The British Engine sector of the post-war period was defined by long production runs and incremental development, which means an engine fitted to your car may share major components with units fitted to several other marques across two decades. The BMC A-Series Family The A-Series, designed by Austin and introduced in 1951, powered the Morris Minor, Austin-Healey Sprite, MG Midget, Mini, Metro and many other vehicles, in capacities from 803cc to 1275cc. The unit was incrementally developed for over forty years, with the A-Plus revision arriving in the late 1970s. Owners working with A-Series engines in different applications often find that head gaskets, valve train, oil pumps and timing components cross-reference closely between marques, while bottom-end specifications and ancillaries differ. The BMC B-Series and C-Series The B-Series powered the MGB, Austin Cambridge, Morris Oxford and many other family cars, with a 1798cc displacement in the MGB form. The C-Series, used in the MGC and Austin-Healey 3000 among others, is a six-cylinder unit with a distinctive seven-bearing crankshaft. Both engine families share parts inventory across applications, particularly in cylinder head, valve train and ancillary components. Triumph, Rover and Jaguar Engines Triumph engines covered four-cylinder slant units used in the TR7 and Dolomite, the small-frame engines of the Spitfire and Herald, and the six-cylinder engines of the TR5, TR6 and 2.5PI. Rover overhead-valve and the famous V8, itself originally a Buick design adapted by Rover, appear in numerous specialist applications. Jaguar XK twin-cam units powered the marque from the late 1940s through to the 1990s in various capacities. This Section's Sub-Categories The Engine section opens into five sub-categories. Engines covers complete reconditioned and exchange units. Water Pump & Thermostat covers cooling components mounted to the engine block. Engine Controls covers throttle linkages, choke cables and accelerator components. Upper Engine covers cylinder heads, gasket sets, rocker assemblies and valve train. Oil Filter & Pump covers oil pumps, filter housings, oil cooler hardware and lubrication system components. Use the sub-category tiles to navigate to the relevant section, or use the in-page filter to narrow by make and model. The MGOC Spares British Classic Car Parts Engine range encompasses complete engines, cylinder heads, gasket sets, valve train, water pumps, thermostats, oil filtration, oil pumps, engine controls and upper engine components for the classic British marques we serve. MGOC Spares is constantly expanding our range for these non-MG British classic marques, and new lines are being added to this section regularly.
