MGBV8 Chrome Bumper Body Shell with MGRV8 style modifications.
Our exclusive bodyshell is based on a rubber bumper MGB Roadster bodyshell with a Chrome Bumper outer; however in the early design phase we had discussions with British Motor Heritage to achieve a professional MGB Roadster V8 conversion which was significantly different to Heritage's own version.
This specification is exclusive to MGOC Spares and constitutes a bodyshell which provides the additional structural integrity required for performance V8 projects.
The modifications are aimed to facilitate ease of V8 powertrain and results in a car with sound handling characteristics. In total there are 20 bodyshell modifications, with the main alterations summarised as follows:
• Gearbox tunnel modifications to accept LT77 & R380 Gearboxes
• Relocation of the G/Box cross member
• Inner wing flitches cut and reinforced to accept MGRV8 style exhaust headers (B052A)
• Bonnet Cross Brace Reinforcement repositioned to allow clearance of low rider air filter if using Edelbrock 414 and Offenhauser 360 4 Barrel Inlet Manifold (G008)
• Modified bulkhead to suit late MGB Rubber Bumper (1977on) dual/tandem braking system (GMC164) with in-line brake servo (BAU1016)
• Rubber< Bumper Steering Column mountings
• Rubber Bumper/V8 engine mounting location
• Anti Tramp Bar brackets as found on MGRV8
• Single twelve-volt battery compartment
• V8 Radiator Diaphragm
• Valance to accommodate Supersport twin Exhaust System (B158)

Manufactured in the UK by British Motor Heritage using original factory press tooling and assembly jigs. Suitable for right- or left-hand drive re-shell; supplied inclusive of doors, bonnet and boot-lid. Presented in carriage primer; ready for seam sealing and painting.
