Original specification for Midget 1500s from 1974 onwards. 11/16" (17.5mm) bore.
MGB Competition Application: MGB racers often reduce the bore of the rear wheel cylinders to reduce rear brake lock-up, allowing greater braking effort to be applied at the front. The standard MGB rear wheel cylinder has a 4/5" (0.800" / 20.3mm) bore. GWC1129, with its 11/16" (17.5mm) bore, reduces piston area by approximately 26%, providing a more modest reduction in rear braking effort and shifting brake bias towards the front. For a greater reduction in rear braking effort, the GWC1101 5/8" (15.9mm) bore cylinder provides approximately a 39% reduction in piston area compared with the standard MGB cylinder.
