The design of the MGB inner wing reinforcers allows road grime and moisture to collect in a 14"x4" cavity located at the top and slightly forward of the splash shields. This area can be difficult to access to clean giving rise to corrosion, which unchecked eats through into the engine bay with small holes appearing adjacent to and in-line with the bonnet prop. At this stage, it is likely that the inner wing reinforcers will require replacement. A job which is both time consuming and costly but which can be avoided if the area is kept clean of muck and treated regularly with corrosion inhibitor. MGOC Spares are pleased to offer MGB owners Upper Splash Shields, manufactured from stainless steel and designed to shield and protect the inner wing reinforcers from corrosion. Supplied individually in left and right (part numbers K180L & K180R), with seal and ACME screw fixings for straightforward installation (no welding required).
