It is more likely that an MGF or MGTF will need a rear caliper replacement sooner than a front; most likely due to seizing of the internal mechanisms, with the handbrake actuator shaft becoming increasingly stiff over time preventing effective application of the handbrake. Whilst it is possible to remove, strip and clean a rear caliper to achieve temporary repair, replacing is often the only way to restore long term reliability.
