RV8 Manifold Inner Wing Reinforcers. Required when fitting RV8 style manifolds on MGB V8 conversions.
The inner flitch panels form part of the main load-bearing structure around the engine bay and front suspension on an MGB monocoque shell. Cutting large apertures to accommodate RV8-style exhaust manifolds reduces local stiffness. As per the original MGRV8, Reinforcement Stiffener Plates can be welded around the openings to restore rigidity, reduce flexing and help prevent stress cracking of the surrounding metalwork and paint over time. Wehn installing MGRV8 extractor manifolds, fitting reinforcements is a sensible engineering practice, helping to return strength to an area that is subject to significant loading from both the suspension and bodyshell
