Exterior styling remained remarkably restrained throughout production, the relative absence of decoration being one of the factors that makes the car so attractive, and the changes made over the years created distinctly different phases of appearance without ever compromising the fundamental design. The Exterior Styling section covers the accessories and modifications that allow owners to personalise the car beyond standard factory specification, from period-correct competition styling to practical additions for regular road use, alongside the V8-specific badging that identifies the car's specification.
V8 Badging
The V8 badges are the most visible identifier of the car's specification. Chrome bumper V8s typically carried three silver V8 badges, one on each front wing and one on the bootlid, while rubber bumper V8s carried two silver V8 badges in revised positions appropriate to the rubber bumper bodywork. For the 1975 Jubilee specification, gold V8 badges replaced the silver badges on Jubilee cars only. Faithful replacement badges in silver and gold are available for restoration work, alongside trim strips, beading, drip rails, and reproduction decals matching the original specifications.
Roll Bar & Spoilers
The roll bar provides both a safety structure and a visual statement on the Roadster, with removable covers available in black, blue, red, and white to complement the car's colour scheme. The Club spoiler is based on the Abingdon Special Tuning Department aerodynamic design, developed for improved roadholding and engine cooling, prepared ready to take primer and top coat. The Club lamp spoiler extends this concept with recesses for fitting driving or fog lamps. The LE-style spoiler reproduces the front spoiler fitted to the 1980 Limited Edition models.
Sebring Body Kit
The Sebring body kit is the most comprehensive styling modification available, reproducing the panels fitted to the famous Sebring race cars of the 1960s. Sebring wing kits of four wings are available for both Roadster and GT. Sebring front and rear valances, headlamp cowls with fitting kits, and the individual Sebring panels are all available for owners building a full conversion or simply fitting a front valance for the improved brake cooling that the air scoops provide.
Wings, Masks & Protection
Fibreglass front wings are available in both chrome bumper and rubber bumper profiles, providing a lightweight and corrosion-proof alternative to steel when the primary concern is the weight and condition of the wing rather than originality. Mudflaps in a choice of designs and logos protect the lower body panels from road spray and stone chips. A Folia Tec self-adhesive body protector film is available for stone chip protection in vulnerable low-level areas. Front masks in chrome bumper and rubber bumper fitments provide stone chip and fly protection for touring, and front wheel arch undershields protect the inner wing area from the road spray and salt that accelerates corrosion from beneath.
