MGF & TF Exterior Styling

Bodywork > Exterior Styling

The Exterior Styling section groups the cosmetic and visual-upgrade items available for the MGF and MG TF, accessories that enhance or personalise the car's appearance without modifying the underlying bodywork. These differ from the Bodywork Upgrades & Alternatives category (which covers durability-focused panel improvements) in that they are purely appearance-based. Some items fit either model, some are MGF-specific, and some are MG TF-specific, the individual child pages below confirm fitment. None of these items are required for roadworthiness; all are elective upgrades to a standard-specification car. MGF-Specific, MG TF-Specific, and Shared Styling Air Duct Mesh (Node 2899) and Front Grille Mesh (Node 2898) are primarily MGF-focused stainless steel mesh inserts for the front bumper apertures and side air ducts, available in woven wire and hexagon patterns, with matching body-coloured bezel options in a range of factory colours. The MG TF has different grille apertures and its own separate treatment under MGTF Styling Kit and MGTF Air Inducers below. MGTF Styling Kit (Node 2900) and MGTF Air Inducers (Node 2872) are MG TF-specific items addressing the MG TF's different body geometry. The styling kit typically covers coordinated body-panel enhancements; the air inducers cover the MG TF's distinctive side air intake scoops on the rear wing leading edges. Front Spoilers (Node 2873) covers front spoiler options including the MGF Trophy-specification spoiler and equivalents, a distinctive visual signature available as a retrofit to standard MGFs. Shared Styling Categories Bonnet & Engine Bay Detailing (Node 2889) covers polished and anodised dress-up components for the engine bay and front compartment, visible on the mid-engine MGF/MG TF whenever the engine cover or bonnet is raised, more so than on a front-engined car. Door Mirror Bodies (Node 2874) covers replacement body-coloured mirror bodies, handed and colour-matched to original paint codes. Mudflaps covers front and rear mudflaps protecting paintwork and sill areas from stone chip damage. Fitment Considerations Most styling items are supplied primed or unpainted and require body-colour matching before fitting. MGOC Spares can advise on paint code identification, the factory paint code appears on the identification plate on the RH side of the under-bonnet compartment. Mesh and inducer items typically fit into existing apertures without modification; styling kit components may require adhesive bonding in addition to mechanical fixings. Compatibility with existing accessories such as fog lamps or parking sensors should be checked before ordering, some styling items alter the fog lamp mounting position.
