Stainless steel exhaust systems for the 1500cc cover the full production range from 1975 to 1979. A single system specification covers all 1500 cars, though the fitting kits differ by chassis number range (due to the rear bracket and silencer mounting changes at GAN6-169792 and GAN6-200001).
1500 Stainless System
The 1500 stainless system is manufactured to the same Double S specification as the 1275cc systems, 309/401 grade stainless with mirror-polished silencers and a lifetime guarantee against corrosion. Standard and sports specifications are available. The gasket-sealed manifold connection is replicated accurately, and the system hangs on the original mounting points.
Upgrades
For maximum performance, the stainless system can be paired with a stainless steel tubular performance manifold for a complete stainless exhaust solution from head to tail pipe. This combination provides the best possible exhaust gas flow, permanent corrosion resistance, and an exhaust note that is distinctly sportier than the standard cast iron manifold with a mild steel system.
