MGF & TF Air Duct Mesh

Brightwork > Air Duct Mesh

The air ducts on the MGF are the two side intake apertures that flank the central front grille, sitting below the headlamps on either side, feeding cooling air to the front brakes and to the engine cooling circuit via the underfloor routing. As originally fitted, the apertures are closed off by plastic slat grilles matching the main bumper grille in appearance, and the MGOC-branded air duct mesh kits replace these plastic slats with polished stainless steel mesh, giving a more traditional sports-car appearance and a durable finish that resists corrosion and UV degradation. Two Mesh Patterns Two air duct mesh kits are catalogued, both supplied as pairs for the right and left positions, a stainless steel woven wire mesh in a classic sports-car aesthetic, and a hexagon-pattern mesh in a more contemporary geometric look. Both kits fit the same apertures and install into the same mounting positions, so the choice is purely aesthetic, and the kits are MGF-specific, as the MG TF has an entirely different front bumper design with a separate side air inducer arrangement. Coordinating Options The air duct mesh kits are designed to coordinate with the matching front grille mesh kits, the woven front grille mesh pairing with the woven air duct mesh and the hexagon front grille mesh pairing with the hexagon air duct mesh. For a fully integrated paint-matched front-end treatment, bezels are catalogued in six factory colour options combining body-coloured surrounds with stainless mesh inserts, Tahiti Blue, Charcoal, British Racing Green, Flame Red, Nightfire Red, and Silver, the bezel kits replacing the complete air duct bezel unit of frame plus mesh rather than just the mesh insert alone, a more comprehensive styling upgrade. Fitment Mesh pairs fit into the existing air duct apertures without bodywork modification, installation typically involving removing the original plastic grille slats from the aperture and fitting the mesh insert in their place with fixing clips or screws behind the aperture. The process is reversible, as original plastic slats can be refitted if the mesh is later removed, making these items a low-commitment styling enhancement.
