Lighting is one of the areas where British classics most visibly benefit from modern upgrades, original sealed-beam headlamps and tungsten bulbs were adequate for the lower traffic speeds and rural lighting conditions of their era, but stand to be improved for modern road use, and several upgrade paths preserve the appearance of the car while delivering significantly better visibility.
Headlamps
Original British classic headlamps are predominantly sealed-beam units in 7-inch round configuration, with rectangular and smaller round formats appearing on selected later applications. Original sealed-beam units remain available for restoration use; halogen conversions fitted within original housings are a popular middle-ground upgrade that preserves the original appearance with significantly improved output; full LED conversions offer the brightest output available and are particularly popular for night and country driving.
Sidelights, Indicators and Rear Lights
Sidelights, indicators and rear lights are stocked in original-pattern fittings across the major British classic applications, with LED bulbs available as a direct replacement upgrade in most lamp types. The conversion to LED is straightforward, the bulb is replaced and, in some cases, a flasher relay is changed to compensate for the lower current draw of LEDs versus original tungsten bulbs.
Fog Lights and Auxiliary Lighting
Period-correct fog lights and auxiliary lights are popular both for their improved low-speed visibility and for the visual character they add to the front of the car. Lucas, Marchal, Hella and other period-style brands are stocked alongside modern equivalents.
Bulbs and Hardware
Bulbs in tungsten, halogen and LED forms are stocked across the standard fittings used on British classics, H4, H1, BA15s, BAY15d and other common configurations.
