Car covers protect the TD and TF during storage, and the choice between indoor and outdoor covers depends on the storage environment and the level of protection needed.
Indoor Covers
Indoor covers prioritise dust protection, using soft materials that will not scratch the paintwork or chrome when the cover is placed or removed. The cover prevents the gradual accumulation of dust, workshop debris, and the accidental scratches and scuffs that occur in a shared garage environment. A well-fitted indoor cover also discourages casual contact with the car, an underappreciated benefit when the car is stored in a space used for other activities.
Outdoor Covers
Outdoor covers must balance rain and UV protection with breathability. A non-breathable cover will trap condensation beneath the material, creating exactly the damp environment that accelerates corrosion of the steel panels and deterioration of the ash body frame, the dual-material body construction of the TD and TF makes this a particular concern. Breathable covers allow moisture vapour to escape whilst blocking liquid water and UV radiation. Even the best outdoor cover is a compromise, and a dry garage remains the preferred storage for any T-series car.
