MGC Upgrades & Alternatives

The original MGC heater, shared in principle with the MGB, is widely acknowledged as being somewhat ineffective, a limitation that is particularly noticeable in winter motoring. Three targeted upgrades address this: a high-efficiency heater matrix with improved heat transfer characteristics, an uprated two-speed blower motor with a larger impeller for significantly increased airflow, and a heater box seal kit to ensure that all the warm air produced by the matrix actually reaches the cabin rather than leaking into the engine bay. These three upgrades work most effectively when fitted together, transforming the heater's performance from disappointing to genuinely usable.
