The MGB GT headlining is one of the more challenging interior components to replace well, and one of the most rewarding when done correctly. A sagging, stained, or torn headlining dominates the interior of a GT in a way that no amount of good carpeting or seat covers can disguise, the roof lining is the largest single visible surface in the cabin. The GT roof lining and associated upper trim changed during production. The roof lining, sun visors, header and cant rail covers, rear quarter upper liner, and quarterlight rear edge cover were originally available in grey or beige to match the interior scheme. From the 1969 model year, beige was deleted and grey became standard on all cars.
From the 1977 model year, the rear quarter upper liner was modified so the grey colour finished at a horizontal line following the waist rail, with the bottom part becoming black.
Roof Lining Kits & Boards
The roof lining kit supplies the headlining material cut to original dimensions for a correct fit. A replacement headlining board is available where the original has warped, delaminated, or broken, fitting new material to a sound board gives a far better result than attempting to recover a failed one. The rear header rail lining finishes the junction between the headlining and the rear screen aperture.
C-Post Panels & Fixings
C-post panels trim the rear quarter pillars and are available in grey, grey/black, and biscuit. All associated fixings are available including C-post liner clips, cup washers, and interior trim clips.
