Fuel system components for classic British cars, covering carburettors and rebuild parts, fuel pumps, fuel tanks, sender units, fuel lines and filters. The British classic carburettor landscape is dominated by SU and Zenith-Stromberg, with Solex, Weber and SU HIF variants appearing in specific applications, and the underlying technology is well-supported with rebuild kits, tuning components and complete replacement carburettors.
SU Carburettors Across the Range
The SU carburettor, a constant-velocity, variable-jet design, is fitted to a remarkably wide range of British classics, in single, twin and triple installations. Common types include H, HS and HIF variants in 1¼-, 1½- and 1¾-inch throat sizes. Many MGB, Austin-Healey, Triumph TR and Jaguar applications share carburettor fundamentals even where the specific tune differs, and our SU range supports rebuilding, tuning and complete replacement.
Zenith-Stromberg and Other Carburettors
Zenith-Stromberg CD carburettors were fitted to many emissions-era cars from 1972 onwards, including US-market MGBs, Triumphs and others, and their service parts inventory is well-stocked. Other carburettor types, Solex, Weber DCOE conversions for performance applications, and various single-barrel installations, are supported with rebuild kits and replacement components where applicable.
E10 Ethanol Compliance
The UK transition to E10 petrol in September 2021 created concerns for classic owners about ethanol attack on rubber seals, soft solder joints and certain plastics. MGOC Spares has supplied E10-compliant fuel system components since January 2012, ahead of the regulatory change, and the components in this section, fuel tanks, sender seals, fuel lines, fuel pumps and carburettor parts, are E10-compatible where the part is in contact with fuel. We continue to recommend that owners use 97+ Premium Unleaded E5 where possible, particularly in cars whose original specification predates unleaded fuel, and we offer Castrol Valvemaster as a lead-substitute additive for cars built for leaded fuel.
Fuel Pumps and Fuel Tanks
SU electric fuel pumps appear across many British classic applications, with mechanical pumps fitted to some Triumph, Rover and Jaguar units. Both types are supported in this section. Fuel tanks for the most popular British classics are stocked in original-pattern steel construction with E10-compatible coatings.
This Section's Sub-Categories
The Fuel section opens into three sub-categories, Carburettor & Components for SU, Zenith-Stromberg, service kits, needles, jets and tuning parts; Fuel Pumps for SU electric, mechanical and replacement pumps; and Fuel Tanks & Senders for tanks, sender units, sender seals and tank-mounting hardware. The MGOC Spares British Classic Car Parts Fuel range encompasses carburettors and rebuild parts, fuel pumps, fuel tanks, sender units, fuel lines, filters and E10-compatible components for the British classics we serve. MGOC Spares is constantly expanding our range for these non-MG British classic marques, and new lines are being added to this section regularly.
