MGFs were originally fitted with brass/copper radiators, which being remote from the engine bay lacked the residual heat drying effect from the engine which can lead to a short service life particularly when the car is used in all weathers. The introduction of the MGTF brought about a design change, with the radiator assembled using aluminium core for greater longevity.
