Corrosion of the locking wheel bolts is common on MGZT models, particularly on later vehicles (2003 on) which were factory fitted with the flower key pattern locking wheel nut sets produced by McGuard. Shallow key to wheel bolt engagement leads to damage of both the removal key and wheel bolt making removal of the wheel extremely difficult. Where the owner considers wheel theft is of limited risk it is
recommended to replace the locking wheel bolts with standard bolts.
