The Rear Wheel Arch Mudshield found on MGFs and TFs is located on the lower right hand side of the sub frame and plays a vital role in protecting the alternator and engine timing belts from damage caused by the ingress of muck deflected by the right hand rear wheel. MGFs were fitted with a rear wheel arch mudshield originally manufactured from fibre insulation board, often found to be missing having disintegrated long ago. This was re-designed for the MGTF, retaining the same fixing positions yet manufactured from a robust and flexible high density polyethylene (HDPE). This longer lasting variant can be easily fitted to all MGFs and MGTFs requiring no modification.
