MG TD & TF Interior

Interior

Besides the dashboard, the interior of the TD was very familiar to earlier T models. There were two seats linked by a single-piece squab with matching colour trim door panels. Black Karvel carpeting with unbound edges was used and now covered the gearbox tunnel. The gear lever had a sewn leather gaiter, also in black. The trim was most commonly Rexine-covered plywood in a matching colour to the seats. The most obvious change on the TF was the individual bucket-type adjustable seats. They were hinged to the floor at the front so the whole seat could be tilted forwards. Perhaps from the start of the TF production, the Rexine trim material was exchanged for Vynide, again to match the seat colour.
