The single-circuit brake servo section covers the Girling Mark 2B servo units fitted to UK and most export right-hand drive MGCs. Two variants were used: an early type up to chassis number 1153 with its own repair kit specification, and a later type from chassis number 1154 onwards. Reconditioned exchange servos are available for both variants. For the later type, an alternative Lockheed servo provides a practical replacement option with its own specific repair kit, this is particularly useful where a serviceable Girling core is not available for reconditioning.
Air filter and seal kits, filter covers, air valve repair kits, non-return valves with sealing washers, and servo vacuum hose with clips complete the available components. The servo is mounted at the rear of the engine compartment on the side opposite to the master cylinder box.
