The overall shape of the TD was much lower and wider than the TC. This along with the wider, flatter wheels gave a sportier look and a more comfortable ride. The battery box was cut into the sloping bulkhead which was painted body colour. The front wings were much lower than that of the TC and the running boards had three chrome-plated strips tapering off to fit the shape. The rear had a very short valance in a shelf shape to house the spare wheel.
The TF’s body shape was quite different to the TD's. More obviously were the headlamps which were now faired into the front wings. The bonnet line and front wings were also lowered with a more domed shape on the wings. The running boards were joined between the front and rear wing with black rubber piping and had three chrome-plated tread strips that ran much further forward up the wings. The rear wing ran slightly further back and was raised slightly. In turn, a void below the spare wheel was filled with a shelf-like valance between the petrol tank, wings, and bumper.
