Boss Adaptors
Three boss specifications cover the Midget range depending on production date and horn arrangement, and the boss must be matched to both the wheel brand and the car, as an incorrect boss will prevent the horn from functioning or the wheel from fitting, with sub-variants within each boss specification addressing the three horn contact methods used across production.
Fitting
When changing a steering wheel, the column and wheel should be marked before removal for correct straight-ahead alignment on refitting, and the retaining nut should be left on by one thread during removal, as the wheel breaks free from its taper suddenly and the nut prevents it from hitting the driver.
