The MG TF front bumper cover is a single-piece plastic moulding supplied primed for painting to body colour, fitted to a dedicated MG TF front bumper armature assembly. The bumper is retained to the armature by two screws with plain thick washers, the washer specification changing during production, and two adjustment shims between armature and body are fitted as standard, allowing shims to be added or removed to fine-tune the front bumper's alignment with adjacent panels. A separate front bumper air duct channels cooling air through the bumper opening, retained by screw rivets and spring nuts, with a bumper support strap holding the overall assembly in shape.
Front Grille
The lower front grille is catalogued in two finishes, standard black and bright as an upgrade option. Unlike the MGF, the MG TF did not have a three-finish progression, the grille not being offered in a chrome finish comparable to the Mk2 MGF, with grille-to-bumper screws and U-type spring nuts completing the grille fixings. The MG Rover-era MG TF was fitted with a central body-coloured horizontal vane within the grille aperture, a feature of the original styling refresh and catalogued separately where available, while the later NAC-era cars from 2008 received a simplified grille arrangement, specific parts for which may require enquiry on a specific VIN basis.
Fog Lamps
Fog lamp provision changed significantly during MG TF production. For cars with fog lamps fitted, handed mounting brackets are catalogued in two production variants, and for cars without fog lamps fitted, handed blanking panels fill the apertures, again in two production variants, the earlier blanking panels supplied primed for painting to body colour and the later panels supplied in black requiring no painting. Ordering either brackets or blanking panels therefore requires knowing the VIN to determine which specification applies.
Rear Bumper & Grille
The MG TF rear bumper cover is a primed plastic moulding, retained to the bodyshell by three identical mounting brackets, the same unhanded part fitting in three positions across the bumper width, plus pop rivets. The rear bumper-to-body seal is shared between MGF and MG TF, the same seal serving both models. The rear bumper grille is catalogued in two finish options, chrome as standard fitment and black as a factory alternative introduced during production, with screws and spring nuts securing the rear grille.
