Oncoming traffic moves faster, motorway lighting is brighter, and rural routes are populated with cars whose own headlamps produce two or three times the lumen output of an original Lucas unit. It is a direct-fit LED bulb engineered specifically for use in classic Lucas-pattern headlamps, transforming night-driving visibility on any car already converted to halogen or being upgraded from sealed beam at the same time. The conversion is fully compliant with UK road lighting requirements for vehicles of the relevant age.
Right-Hand-Drive Beam Specification
Every headlamp lens in the Q Parts range is specified for right-hand-drive UK traffic, the beam asymmetry, dipped-beam cut-off and side-spread pattern are correct for UK roads. This matters: a left-hand-traffic lens dazzles oncoming UK drivers and produces a beam pattern that fails MOT test even when bulb output is correct.
Engineering and Construction
Lenses are produced from optically correct glass, reflectors are vacuum-metallised for higher reflectance, and bulb holders are dimensioned for current-generation halogen and LED-compatible bulbs. Sealing has been improved to keep moisture out, a chronic weak point on aged original lamps, and wiring terminals are corrosion-resistant for stable contact over the long term.
Fitment
