All Classic Minis covered in this catalogue scope use wind-up door windows, comprising a drop glass that runs in front and rear channels, sealed against the door frame by run-channel seals and the upper door waist seal, and operated by a manual regulator inside the door. Two key door window arrangements apply: the 1976 to 1979 specification (with its specific lock controls, finishers and bezels) and the 1983-on specification with revised internals. The Cabriolet (1991 to 1996) uses its own specific wind-up door window arrangement with two-piece run channels and a Cabriolet-specific drop glass.
Wheel Arch Extensions
Wheel arch extensions are available in left-hand and right-hand, front and rear applications. The original steel arch lip was supplemented from the late 1970s by plastic arch extensions on Clubman and 1275 GT models, with wider extensions used on Sport Pack 13-inch wheel cars from 1997.
Replacement arch extensions allow corroded or damaged originals to be replaced without disturbing the wing pressing itself, and the correct profile must be matched to wheel size and wheel-arch reinforcement.
Door Furniture
Door handle, lock and window mechanism specifications changed across production. Exterior door handles cover the standard 1976 to 1996 type and the 1997-on type that fits the side-impact-bar door. Interior pulls are available in black for both 1976 to 1996 and 1997-on specifications, plus colour-coded versions (Prussian Blue, Bitter Chocolate, Coffee, Granite) for late-1980s and 1990s coloured-trim cars and an alloy version for the 2000 Cooper Sport. Lock barrels, lock sets, hinge arms and door check straps all differ between production periods.
Door hinges are available individually for upper and lower positions, in pairs by side, and as complete car sets of four. Door channel mouldings, regulators and glass channel seals are listed in 1976 to 1979 and 1983-on specifications, with reproduction parts covering items no longer available as original.
Bonnet, Boot and Mirrors
Bonnet hinges changed from the early 1976 to 1980 type to the later updated hinges that may be retrofitted to earlier cars when both sides are replaced as a pair. Boot lid hinges changed from a ridged profile to a rounded profile from approximately 1990 onwards, with the rounded profile being suitable for retrofit to earlier cars when fitted as a pair. Boot hinge repair arms address the common corrosion failure at the hinge mounting point in the back panel. Bonnet stays, catches and release mechanisms, boot locks and release cables, exterior and interior mirrors and the full range of associated fixings cover both pre-1996 and 1996-on specifications.
Roof Mouldings, Gutters and Weather Strips
Roof gutter mouldings are available in left-hand and right-hand black, with Nimbus Grey and Old English White colour-coded versions available for cars in those original colours. From 1980 onwards an alternative one-piece moulding type was introduced. Roof aerial seals and cable assemblies cover the original aerial mounting point in the roof. Sill finishers in black plastic protect the sill weld seam and replace the original Hardura type.
Weather strips run between body sections to seal against water ingress, and rear louvre seam mouldings cover the joint between the rear quarter panel and the back panel. Drop glass channel seals at the front and rear of the door window aperture, plus the upper window frame seal, complete the door weather sealing.
Number Plate Fittings and Brackets
Number plate hinges in left-hand and right-hand, plus the No.1 plate bracket, allow the original swing-down rear number plate arrangement to be maintained. Front number plate brackets and fixings are available separately. The rear number plate lamp housing and bulb are listed under Lighting in the Electrics section.
Badges and Identification
Bonnet badges, grille badges and boot lid badges across the full production run are available, including limited edition specific badges (Mini 25, Mini 30, Mini 35, Mini 40, Italian Job, Sidewalk, Equinox, Cabriolet, Mary Quant, Paul Smith, Kensington, Knightsbridge, Cooper Sport, Seven 2000, John Cooper). Many limited edition badges and graphics were produced in small batches for the original cars and have been reintroduced specifically for restoration. Period-correct graphics and stripe kits are available for the 1275 GT, Special, City, Sprite, Mayfair, Cooper, Mini 25, Mini 30, Mini 35, and most named limited editions.
